Dr. Diana Howard is Coming to SFIEC!

Dr. Diana Howard
One of the awesome things about my job is that I get to meet a lot of cool and influential people within the skincare industry. On March 26th, Dr. Diana Howard will be at SFIEC to guest speak for both our cosmetology and esthetic Future Professionals. Dr. Diana Howard is not only THE skincare industry's ingredients queen, she's also the Vice President of Technical Development at the International Dermal Institute and Dermalogica.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Dr. Diana Howard has her PhD in Plant Biochemistry? Her doctorate work on learning about all of the unique ingredients in plants eventually lead her to working in the skincare industry.

If you are an ingredients nerd (as am I), you'll love listening to Dr. Diana Howard speak about the science behind skincare, product ingredients, how to properly read a product label and how to prevent premature aging on the skin. She's incredibly well-spoken. Listening to her speak about the science behind skincare is not only informative, but interesting and surprisingly easy to follow. She has an amazing way of making the most complex ingredient or process completely understandable. Trust me, you wont need a PhD in order to understand what she's talking about.

One piece of anti-aging advice from Dr. Diana Howard? "If you don't get sensitive skin in check, then it will lead to inflammation and that leads to premature aging."

Interested and want to learn more? Dr. Diana Howard has several videos on YouTube and has written many informative articles on the IDI website that showcase her vast knowledge on the skincare industry and cover a wide variety of topics from an in-depth look on ingredients to how to choose a quality skincare line.

This particular video shows Dr. Diana Howard discussing the science behind some of the popular ingredients used in skincare products, the importance of having a solid, preventive skincare routine and is filled with a few age-appropriate anti-aging tips.

It's never too early to start taking care of your skin and working to prevent signs of aging. I'm so excited to meet Dr. Diana Howard in March!
