Top 5 Most Popular Posts in January

I haven't done a top 5 most popular post roundup since last September. I think its safe to assume that I am WAY overdue. My goodness. Where does the time go? I love these kinds of posts because they give me a chance to slow down and reflect on the previous month.

January was quite a busy month for my blog. I wrote some really cool posts that I'm proud of. I'm still in the process of taking Skin Inc's Online Education course, which is completely awesome and fueling my inner nerd fire. If you haven't had a chance to check it out yet, do it now and get your skin care geek out on. The online video series provides a wealth of information that every licensed esthetician not only needs to know, but should review constantly. I was invited to attend a special event at Benefit, launching their brand new liquid foundation, Hello Flawless. I also hosted a giveaway, featuring two of the colors in the liquid foundation collection. January brought on a few product and nail polish reviews. Yes, I'm still on my nail polish kick. The addiction gets worse with each polish I add to my collection. When am I ever going to wear all of this polish I'm accumulating? I even managed to submit a few articles to Broke-Ass Stuart's page. What's there NOT to love about saving money?

So without further adieu, here are the top 5 most popular posts in January:

#5: Should I go to Beauty School?
This has got to easily be one of my all-time, most popular posts on my blog. It's also the number one most asked question I got through emails from readers. The decision to go to beauty school shouldn't be taken lightly. It's expensive and for some, like me, can be life chanigng. I went through a lot of sacrifice to get myself through beauty school. I wanted to make sure that I was not only making the best decision by going, but also choosing the best school for me. Luckily for me, I made the right choice. If you are thinking of going to beauty school, read my post first. Hopefully it will give you some food for thought.

#4: What's Your "Too Tired" Routine?
A little background information on this post: it was inspired by one extra tired morning in particular. Sometimes, you have to burn the candle at both ends to get what you want to do in life done. I work a full-time job and try to maintain my blog in my spare time, while maintaining a healthy social life with my friends and family. Sometimes, I get so wrapped up in doing what I'm doing that I miss my bedtime and the alarm clock goes off a lot sooner than I would like it to. No matter how busy you may be, always make the time to take good care of your skin. Always!

#3: Awesome Tool: MAC Foundation Finder
Here is another one of my all-time, most popular posts on my blog. It sounds like a lot of my readers are huge MAC makeup fans like I am. I have the luxury of trying all different types of foundations from a number of different brands. With MAC, there are so many foundations to choose from. Going into a store or up to a counter, it might be a little intimidating trying to figure out exactly which foundation is going to work best for your skin. MAC made is super easy y creating this nifty Foundation Finder tool. Once you figure out which foundation is best for your skin and coverage concerns, all you have to do is go into a local store to get color matched. Easy breezy!

#2: 5 Makeup Recommendations for Acne Sufferers
In January, Skin Inc Magazine released their brand new online video course, featuring information from the skin care bible, Physiology of the Skin. Since acne is the number one skin condition people report having, it makes perfect sense that the whole first section of the series is all about acne. Just because you have acne doesn't mean you can't wear makeup. You just have to be smart about how you wear your makeup and what you choose to wear on your skin. This article provides the host of Skin Inc Magazine's online education course, Zoe Draelos, MD's top five makeup recommendation for acne sufferers.

#1: The Five Layers of the Epidermis
I'm so incredibly happy that is the the most popular post on my blog. The epidermis is so important to a licensed esthetician. It's our playground. It's where we get to work and do our magic. The skin is the largest organ of the body and the epidermis is the top five layers of skin on the body. The epidermis is the protective layer that protects the entire body. Even though the thickness of the epidermis is no more than a sheet of kleenex, there's still some amazing stuff that exists and happens in the epidermis. Want to learn more about your own skin? I suggest you read this informative post.

As always, thank you again dear readers for reading my blog. If there is anything you would like to see me cover in future posts, please leave a comment. I am always interested in what my readers have to say and what you're interested in.

Thanks for reading!
