Target Beauty Is My Bag

Who doesn't love free samples? It was a free sample that turned a non-fragrance wearing gal like me into a freak for Tom Ford's Black Orchid. Now I can't live without the fragrance. When I was in beauty school, I discovered the Dermalogica line from using the products on clients and on myself. I had one sample of the Daily Microfoliant and the rest was history. Samples are a perfect way to test out makeup and skincare products. They are a cheap and safe way of finding out how your skin will react with the products. Who really wants to spend the money upfront for a product you and your skin might hate? Or worse yet, who wants to spend hard earned cash on a product that doesn't work like it promises to?

Target recently ran a Target Beauty Is My Bag promotion on their website. Anyone could sign up to receive a cute little cosmetics bag filled with various samples of products along with a booklet containing over $25 worth of Target coupons. Cute and cheap beauty. I was sold and couldn't sign up fast enough for my goodie bag because I knew that quantities were limited.

I just received my Target Beauty Is My Bag in the mail today. Inside my little, bright, blue bag I received a sample of Nivea's Express Hydration, Frederic Fekkai's Shea Butter Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner, a one-time use sample of Revlon's Colorburst Lipgloss in Hot Pink, a decently sized Neutrogena Naturals lip balm and a booklet of coupons claiming to save me up to $25 on various products from Target.

I know, I know. They are just samples and they were free, but I can't help but feel that my little blue bag was missing something. Where is the Sally Hansen nail polish or the Revlon Customereyes mascara or even the Olay Regenerist Night Resurfacing Elixir? Even though my little beauty goodie bag from Target didn't come exactly as pictured on their website, I still love my samples and I still love Target.

  1. I was really bummed when I missed this offer. But, honestly, reading this post makes me not feel as bad about it. It looks like you got some great samples but it's disappointing that it wasn't everything they advertised.
