| Sephora Splurge #2 (within the past two weeks) |
I also realized that my Dior Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum was nearing its wearable end. I replace anything I apply on my eyes that's in a liquid form, every three to four months. Mascara (doesn't matter which brand it is) tends to dry out and get clumpy past the three to four month mark anyways. It was time for me to invest in a new Lash Plumping Serum. It's a product I wear every single day!
I couldn't justify placing an order for just these two items and I was too lazy to go to the store. So I poked around the site to see what else I could add to my shopping basket. Low and behold, there they were: the brand new Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette in Angeles and her limited edition Saint Angeles Rollerball. Score!! These two items have been on my shopping wish list for the past couple of months. I've just been patiently waiting for them to show up on the Sephora website.
The first thing that caught my eye about the Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette in Angeles were the various shades of blue. I don't know what it is about the blue smokey eye, but I have been looking to sport my own version of it for the past year. The Kat Von D shades are vibrant and full of rich pigment. Combined with a little Kat Von D High Voltage Eye Primer underneath and your shadows have even more vibrancy, more staying power and less chance of creasing. I always wear multiple eyeshadows for each of my looks so creasing is something I am always looking to avoid. The other nice thing about this palette is the whole other half consists of various shades of neutral browns, ranging from light to dark. I can't wait to start playing with this palette!
I've never considered myself a fragrance girl. In fact, I am always the one who is running through the fragrance section of a store just so the store associates wont spray me with anything that might induce a headache. Ever since I discovered Tom Ford's Black Orchid by accident in training seven months ago, there hasn't been a day go by where I don't wear a fragrance. For the winter, I loved the deep, sexy and sophisticated scent of Black Orchid. Then Sephora released the Hello Kitty fragrance. At first, I got a deluxe-sized sample of the fragrance only because I thought the bottle was adorable. Then I smelled it. The light floral scent wasn't what I had imagined a Hello Kitty fragrance to smell like at all. I loved it so much that I made it my spring fragrance and bought the 1.7 oz Eau de Parfum Spray for home and the .33 oz Eau de Parfum Rollerball for my purse.
Then I smelled the Kat Von D Saint Angeles Rollerball. It's the perfect light summertime fragrance. It's fresh, fun and sultry. The only thing that bums me out about this fragrance is that it's only comes in the .33 oz Eau Fraiche Roll-On size and its available only for a limited time. I guess I'll see another Sephora splurge in my future. That might not be such a bad thing.

I have the Metal Orchestra Kat Von D palette and LOVE IT. The colors are so pigmented and I think that for the price, it's WELL worth how many shadows you get. I need to get my hands on a beauty blender asap!
ReplyDeleteI was really pleasantly surprised with how vibrant the eyeshadows were in the Kat Von D collection. I already have two of her eyeshadow palettes so far.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried using her High Voltage Eye Primer underneath her shadows? Talk about staying power and color vibrancy! Wow!!
