It's been damn near two months since I last updated my blog. Whoops! I can't believe how busy I've been. I thought I was busy when I was going to school eight hours a day, five days a week with working four of those nights after school each week. Now, I'm working full-time during the day, 40 hours a week and bartending two nights a week. That means two days a week, I'm pulling 16-hour workdays. I'm exhausted just thinking about it.The only thing that keeps me going is knowing that I am working towards permanent employment and hopefully one day, my workweek will be free of bartending for good. Nothing against bartending. I'm just tired of working nights, not having paid holidays or sick days and not ever having the opportunity to call in sick when I am sick or have to have surgery. Bartending (at any bar) is relentless in that aspect. Not to mention I've been bartending for the past eight hours and I'm over entertaining the drunks.
My adventure in the skincare industry has been pretty awesome so far. I'm not currently working on clients-no facials or waxing services YET. I am working with a number of skincare and makeup lines, educating masses of clients on how to find their perfect brand/beauty product/shade to perfectly match their skin tone. It's been a lot of fun. The pay is great and the gratis (free product thanks to the generosity of the brands that give us gratis) is awesome!!
Now that Thanksgiving is over, the holidays are officially here. The holiday shopping season is underway. Bring on the grumpy shoppers, excessive Christmas lists and endless product promotions.
Keep your fingers crossed that they keep me on after the holidays and hire me. I'm really enjoying what I'm doing.
